SHINee, f(x), and more for Hallyu Event in Japan

The old guard of the Hallyu movement (Korean Wave) including Bae Yong Joon, Lee Byung Hun, and Song Seung Hun have been very successful in Japan. The old guard is very popular with the older women in Japan, mainly housewives… However the wave hasn’t really resonated with the younger demographic in Japan. There’s TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki and Big Bang but their integration is more on the lines of blending in and being J-pop artists rather than relying on Hallyu.

To catch this lucrative market more entertainment companies in Korea are holding various events in Japan. To further capitalize on this, here’s an event that should get the teenagers excited. In April, SM Entertainment groups SHINee and f(x), Boys Over Flowers stars Kim Bum and Goo Hye Sun, along with T-Max will get together in Yokohama for two events targeted at the new generation. The first event is titled New Generation – Live in Yokohama - and will be held at the Pacifico Yokohama Hall on April 24th. The second event is titled Boys Over Flowers Last Event – Graduation - and will be held at the Pacifico Yokohama Hall on April 25th.

Thanks to mimi for the tip and winkme@shineee.net for sharing the information.

SNSD’s Jessica sings with a little piano on Star King

On today’s episode of Star King, there was a special guest who could play off a miniature piano. Along with this little piano, SNSD / Girls’ Generation member Jessica sang Lee Sun Hee’s 1988 hit single 나항상 그대를 / (I always … You).

Beautiful Jessica did a wonderful job showing off her great vocals. Check it out below.

Star King guest tries to kiss Minho & Eunhyuk

On today’s episode of Star King, one of the female guests was asked to re-enact a scene where she asks her male partner if he knows the difference between a regular kiss and a real kiss. After asking this the female guest would then proceed to show the male partner the difference.

First up was SHINee’s Minho who seemed to be afraid… Every time the girl tried to kiss her, he would hesitate and back away. Minho went to MC Kang Ho Dong and said that he didn’t know she would really try to kiss him. Kang Ho Dong asked Minho, “Were you scared?” and he said, “Yes.”

Super Junior’s Eunhyuk was up next and he was less hesitant as he received the kisses from the female guest which caused much laughter from everyone. Thanks to StarxChocox for the tip and check out the segment below.

Min Kyung Hoon is jealous of CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa

On February 12th, Min Kyung Hoon was a featured guest on an episode of KBS 2TV’s Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook in which he shared his thoughts on coming back to the music industry. He said, “When I was popular, the number of fans in my fanclub was around 270,000. But now, only about 100,000 members remain.”

He also added, “When I look at my homepage, my old fans tend to just stay inactive, but my current fans tend to leave a note that they are ditching me for another artist. A few days ago, some people said that they liked CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa more.” Hmm. Do I smell jealousy?

Meanwhile, CNLBUE is actually being called the “Second Buzz” and receiving lots of attention for their song I’m a Loner.

Min Kyung Hoon must have been going through lots of stress because he said, “While I was resting, I was overcome with stress and ended up weighing around to 90kg!”

On this day, he performed his hit song, Coward, and also his latest title song, It Hurts Because It’s Love.

Enjoy!

Super Junior’s Heechul to make appearance on Invincible Youth

Looks like G7 of Invincible Youth will have another individual joining their ranks: it’s been revealed that Super Junior’s Cinderella Heechul will be a guest on the next episode of this variety show!

Fans who were watching the February 12 broadcast of Invincible Youth caught a glimpse of the SuJu member in the preview at the end of the show.

Now, Heechul’s arguably one of the queens kings of variety with his ability of making any episode hilarious, so many fans of SuJu and Invincible Youth will undoubtedly enjoy this upcoming broadcast. Stay tuned!

SNSD’s Seohyun reveals her secret to taking a good graduation photo

On the latest episode of MBC’s Section TV, SNSD’s Seohyun was interviewed about her recent graduation. During the interview, Seohyun revealed her secret to taking a good graduation photo. She said, “I think you will look the prettiest if you are neat and clean, like a student.”

She also expressed her feelings towards her future, saying, “I want to enjoy my university life. I am excited because it will be different than the life I had in high school. … I’m sad thinking that I’m graduating already. … From now on, I will become a more responsible person.”

What kind of secret is that? I mean we can all try, but we all know she came out great in her graduation photo because she simply is beautiful.

SNSD’s Sunny reveals her face without makeup

On the latest episode of KBS Invincible Youth, G7’s first night together was revealed. During their first night, SNSD’s Sunny had to reveal her no makeup face because she had to wash her face before sleeping. Before washing her face, Sunny had something to say about Goo Hara of Kara’s fake eyelashes which she took out and left after washing her face. She said, “Who wears such long eyelashes!”

While Sunny was washing her face, Brown Eyed Girls‘ Narsha came up to her and said, “After this episode’s broadcast, the only results you’ll see from typing your name in the search tool will be ‘no makeup face.’” Sunny then whined replied, “I don’t want that. Please cut this part out of the episode.”

As soon as Kim Tae Woo saw Sunny’s face, he commented, “Who are you?” to which Sunny replied, “It’s Soon Gyu [Sunny's name].” As Sunny’s face was revealed, they called her “baby Soon Gyu.”

After revealing her no makeup face, Sunny also helped Kim Tae Woo wash his hair. With soap bubbling on his hair, Kim Tae Woo asked everyone, “What hairstyle do you like?” Sunny replied back, “Beckham style,” then Kim Tae Woo shaped his hair like David Beckham.

Sunny’s face seems to be similar even without her makeup. What do you guys think?

Yuri, HyunA, Goo Hara & Hyomin dance to Hyori, and Hyomin has ninja farts

NSD / Girls’ Generation’s Yuri, 4minute’s Hyuna, Kara’s Goo Hara, and T-ara’s Hyo Min got together for a midnight dance. They all danced to Lee Hyori’s hit single U Go Girl.

T-ara’s Hyomin also had an embarrassing moment on Invincible Youth. It was revealed that Hyomin is the silent but deadly type as her farts have no sound but a deadly smell. One night during filming the girls noticed a nasty smell in the air and they figured out it was Hyomin. To defend herself Hyomin stated that “Well You Can Smell it, but you can’t hear it!”

SNSD pulls victory with Oh! on Music Bank

SNSD is back for another round of live promotions with their hit title track Oh! Now that Seohyun has graduated from high school, the girls are officially all grown up as they return to Music Bank.

The girls have definitely made a successful comeback with their 2nd album, but will it last? With Kara returning with a new dark and sexy concept, when will SNSD bust out theirs? It’s definitely going to be a tough and close battle but not to worry, because the 9 girls will be down, down, down, down!

Crush & Dancing Queen – With Joo Hyun Mi, you can check out that performance here.

Oh!

It’s no surprise to many fans that this powerhouse group claimed a victory this week on Music Bank; congrats to them for this award!

Victory

The show will still go on for SNSD’s Sunny

As previously reported, SNSD / Girls’ Generation member Sunny has been feeling under the weather recently.

According to SM Entertainment, in the last SBS ‘Inkigayo’ performance on the 11th, Sunny performed the group’s new popular song, ‘Oh!” with the rest of the members. Inkigayo is usually broadcasted every Sunday afternoon; however, because of the upcoming Lunar New Years celebration on the 14th, Inkigayo was prerecorded today, with Sunny present.

In addition, a representative of SME said, “Sunny will be performing on today’s Music Bank with SNSD as scheduled. Sunny is still taking medicine, but her condition has improved greatly since the 10th.”

On February 10th, Sunny was present on KBS2TV “Invincible Youth,” but because her fever was so high, she was unable to attend Shindong and Kim Shin Young’s Shim Shim Ta Pa radio show with her fellow members.

Thankfully all nine ladies will be able to perform together for both performances, and none of the music shows will exclude the most sunny (pun intended) member of SNSD. It still doesn’t seem like Sunny has healed completely so hopefully, SME will allow her sufficient time to rest before resuming with promotional activities again.
