Leeteuk sheds tears because of DBSK’s debut

As the first customer, Super Junior’s leader Leeteuk opened up his heart about the past and shared a depressing recollection during the recording of SBS E!TV ‘Jo Hyung Gi and Park Joon Kyu’s Brother Restaurant.‘

“I was supposed to debut in a 5-member group on June 2002,” Leeteuk confessed on the show. “However, because of the World Cup that shook the nation, the date of my debut was delayed and I had to watch my junior trainees Dong Bang Shin Ki debut before me instead.”

In 2002, the entire nation was gaga over soccer. A great majority of the albums and movies that was released during the time ended up being swept under the rug. With the football craze taking over Korea, nobody cared and nobody remembered them. To avoid the same fate, SM Entertainment pushed back Leeteuk’s debut date.

Leeteuk added, “On the outside, I congratulated them on their debut, but I cried on the bus ride home.”

It must have been discouraging to watch his junior trainees perform on stage as he was probably left wondering when it would be his chance to shine. Luckily, Leeteuk debuted as the leader of Super Junior and left a significant imprint on the entertainment industry since then. If it weren’t for him, Sukira’s Kiss the Radio, SBS Strong Heart and MBC Idol Army: Season 1 – among many – would not have been as entertaining to watch. His contagious, Elmo-like laughter makes all the problems in the world disappear, even if just for a moment.

He also revealed the hardships he experienced as a trainee and how he eventually became the leader of a wildly successful idol group known now as Super Junior.

The episode is set to air on the 17th.

CNBLUE’s manager assaults fans

New boy band CNBLUE is in the middle of yet another controversy as their manager is being accused of physically assaulting fans who were gathered around the group’s vehicle.

It all began when a video surfaced on the Korean web a few days ago. The video contained footage of a man, apparently CNBLUE’s manager, wielding his hand into a throng of fans and clearly slapping a girl’s head twice as the group members exited from a parked van. Jong Hyun, who was the first to exit the van, made an awkward smile as he looked into the crowd.

Here is gif from the video. Note: it might take a bit of time to fully load.

As this footage became popular among Korean netizens, CNBLUE’s management company FCN Music quickly responded with a statement.

They explained, “The event happened on the 11th. CNBLUE tried to enter KBS building for a rehearsal but too many fans were in the way. Even with the help of security guards we could not secure the way into the building so the group [CNBLUE] decided to help out. As that was happening, a fan almost tripped Jong Hyun by grabbing on and pulling his hoodie, to which the manager reacted violently.”

They apologized by saying, “Our entire staff apologizes to fans about what had taken place; the manager has been given appropriate punishment and nothing like this will ever happen again.”

As with Jong Hyun smiling, they explained, “Jong Hyun was smiling about the situation where he almost fell down, not at the fans getting beaten. He did not see the beating take place.”

With plagiarism accusations already breathing down their necks, this new boy band is under fire once again. Stay tuned to allkpop for more news on CNBLUE.

And lastly, here’s SNSD’s New Year’s greeting for you fans:

SNSD’s Yuri is a gold digger and YoonA is dating this fall?

On the recent episode of Star King, fortune tellers gave predictions on Yuri and YoonA’s love lives, and the predictions are shocking to say the least!

According to the fortune tellers, YoonA will end up with a boyfriend within the same profession, and it could even be as early as this fall! On the other hand, Yuri was surprisingly predicted to be a gold digger, and a successful one too!

Although that’s not much of a prediction on Yuri’s part because if she was ever a gold digger, obviously she would be the best. I mean this gif alone already made me want to marry her and then immediately die right after, leaving her all my money.

All you YoonA fanboys out there shouldn’t fret too much either because that prediction about future boyfriend is most likely false. How do I know this? Well that’s easy, he said that YoonA’s future boyfriend would be in the same profession, i.e. a singer. I however, am definitely not a singer. I mean I’ve thought about becoming a singer in the past, but for some reason everyone kept on complaining about how my voice was so offensive that it actually made them angry. Usually that wouldn’t be enough to stop me, but after getting my ass beat a few times, I decided to just give up that dream. Therefore, the prediction is false. Case closed.

CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa is popular among girl idols!

Indie band member CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa became the center of attention on a recent episode of KBS’s Star Golden Bell.

In the show, SNSD’s Hyoyeon, T-ara’s Eunjung, and comedian Jung Joori all chose Jung Yong Hwa as the person they would want to introduce to their parents to on New Year’s Day. Hyoyeon complimented, “He looks handsome and acts well too.” Eunjung agreed with Hyoyeon and added, “He looks like the type to sing and play the guitar for you.”

Meanwhile, Jung Joori commented, “My parents already know about SHINee’s Onew, 2AM’s Jinwoon, and MBLAQ’s Lee Joon. This year I want to introduce my parents to new idols that catch my attention,” sending waves of implication to the CNBLUE member.

However, Jung Yong Hwa showed no interest in the three girls as he only had eyes for SNSD’s Tiffany, saying that “Tiffany is the epitome of cuteness. I want to drink coffee with her sometime.”
