SS501’s Kim Hyung Joon has recently taken on the challenge to become a professional gamer.

Kim Hyung Joon’s high popularity was undoubtable, with the show receiving high ratings from the first episode.

Just 15 minutes into the episode, the show garnered in 1.344% of the males between the ages of 13-25. The rating topped MBCgame’s previous high rating.

The ratings were as followed:
1.0366% of the nation’s males ranging from ages 13-25 (18.06%)
1.184% of the nation’s 20-year old males (25.06%)

The show’s main PD even explained why the ratings were more male-dominant despite the gamer being a male idol, “More male youths dream of become progamers and they are satisfied when they imagine themselves as the characters.”

For the CF, he played his F4 character Yoon Ji Hoo who rides his motorcycle against a European backdrop to go to a party and eats chicken surrounded by beautiful girls. Guess Jandi loses out to girls who love to eat chicken. The CF is also getting additional attention as netizens are adding their own BGM (background music) and narration, creating fanvids praising Ji Hoo/Hyun Joong. They revealed that Hyun Joong fit the image for the CF, which was one of luxury with the concept of “Loving girls, Understanding girls, Thinking of girls” Or how about because it’s his own company?
