Super Junior’s Shindong badmouths fat girls

Popular boy band Super Junior can’t seem to avoid controversies and scandals as one of their members, Shindong, has been under criticism and rebuke for a comment he made during the broadcasting of MBC radio station Shim Shim Tapa.

On the 29th, a female listener revealed to the radio station that she recently fought with her boyfriend because of her decision to go on a diet. When she shared with him her diet plans for the new year, he told her, “Don’t start if you’re only going to quit after a few days. Your body isn’t the type to change with a diet.”

Kim Shin Young, who co-hosts the radio station, stated, “To a girl, a negative comment about her weight is equivalent to asking for a punch.”

The Super Junior chubster then commented, “If someone had to lose weight, I would tell that person to lose weight. Lose some weight, why can’t you take care of yourself. When I say this, the person might think, ‘Look who’s talking,’ but I would reply, ‘I’m a boy and you’re a girl.‘”

To this, both Kim Shin Young and announcer Gu Eun Young retorted, “Why does gender matter in this situation? So girls have to be skinny and boys can be…” Taken aback by their remarks, Shindong quickly explained, “I’m just saying. Honestly, I would want the person that I love to be more pretty or more handsome.”

This issue brings up a previous episode of MBC ’Quiz to Change the World,’ wherein fellow Super Junior members also expressed their distaste in “larger” women. Yesung stated, “I think obese people are lazy” while Leeteuk confessed, “I really dislike fat girls. I don’t think they take care of their bodies well.”

In response to Shindong’s remark towards overweight females, netizens commented, “I don’t understand the reasoning behind how men are allowed to be fat but women are not,” and “How can he say something like that when his own chubbiness is being well-received?”

His statement, which has been deemed as offensive, transcends an issue with obesity to that of sexism. Do you side with the Super Junior member or was Shindong completely in the wrong this time?

Yuri and Sooyoung are sleep-talkers!

So, even SNSD girls have sleeping habits. Oh oh oh oh!

Yoona revealed, “Yuri, who has become my new roommate, does not have good sleeping habits.

There was a time when she surprised me because she woke up and started talking to herself in the middle of the night.”

Seohyun revealed, “Once, I went to go wake up Sooyoung unnie and while still unconscious, she stated, ‘Just mind your own business!’

That statement really shocked me.”

Yuri joined in on Seohyun’s statement as well and added, “I went to go wake her up as well and she said, ‘Do you really want to die?’ to me.”

Watch this on KBS’ Sweet Night (달콤한 밤) on January 31st!

T-ara on the set of God of Study

Pictures of T-ara from the set of God of Study have been revealed!

T-ara recently made a cameo appearance in the new hit drama, as the girls who bully around Jiyeon. However, due to her diagnosis of swine flu, member Soyeon had to leave during the filming of the scene.

T-ara stated, “We are worried that Soyeon might be very sick. Although it was very cold on the day of the shoot, filming as a group was very fun, but it is a shame that the six of us could not film together. However, even without Soyeon, we tried to brighten up the mood of the set and tried our best.”

Soyoung celebrates After School’s one year anniversary

After School’s ex-member Soyoung, celebrated the group’s one year anniversary through her minihompy.

On the 19th, she posted up a picture of a cake and trophy that her fans sent her and along with the picture she wrote:

“January 17, 2010 marks exactly one year since After School’s debut and even though I’m not busy right now, I forgot about this date. Thank you to my loves who didn’t forget about me and my friends who couldn’t come out today… I remember that cake. While filming at Sam-chung-dong… hehe. I don’t even know if I’m allowed to take this trophy, I’m touched. I am more thankful for all your good thoughts than for all these presents.”

It’s a pity that Soyoung couldn’t be part of After School during their careers’ peak. But she sounds really touched and thankful for all the love that she received, even though she is no longer an active member of After School.

She finished off her minihompy post with, “To all the people who helped me become who I am! I love you very very much and thank yo

TVXQ’s Jaejoong goes back to blonde

Kpop’s #1 blonde bombshell, Jaejoong of TVXQ, has gotten fans buzzing with his recent hair change-up; after two years of black and brown, Jaejoong has dyed his hair blonde once again. It isn’t that distinctive platinum blonde from O promotions, but hey, I’m sure many fans are loving the ginger / honey blonde just as much.

Check out some photos of Jaejoong taken earlier at Gimpo Airport today; the idol was spotted sporting in a leopard print Colonize jacket and joined by Yoochun and Junsu.

So do you think this change-up is an indication of a new concept, or just something Jaejoong decided to do in his free time? We’ll have to see.

And excuse me for the terrible pun (it had to be made), but what do you think of Jaejoong’s new hairstyle – do you like it black, brown, or are you excited that he’s returning to his 2007 roots?
